2026 World Series Preview: Milwaukee Brewers vs. Tampa Bay Rays

The Milwaukee Brewers and Tampa Bay Rays meet in the 2026 World Series, marking the first time since 1980 that both teams lack a championship in their franchise history. The Rays finished with a 98-64 record and reached the World Series by sweeping the Yankees in the ALDS and defeating the Guardians in six games in the ALCS, led by manager Kevin Cash and a strong pitching staff featuring Bryan Baker, who led the majors with 41 saves. The Brewers won 103 games to capture their fourth consecutive NL Central title, then defeated the Padres in four games and swept the Dodgers to reach their first World Series since 1982 as an NL team. Both teams built their rosters through different methods, with Tampa Bay acquiring players through trades and the draft while Milwaukee relied heavily on homegrown talent from their own draft picks and international signings.
